Imperial Gourmet Chinese in Bishop

Stylish without overly fancy. Just good food and service. The hot and sour soup is fresh each time.

Was disappointed in their food this visit. Five in our party, each ordered a dish from the family dinner, extra dish ordered as well. Out of 6 different dishes only one did not seem overcooked or reheated (old?). The appetizer bbq rib was almost solid fat, shrimp all batter, egg toll greasy. The soup was very good seems so was the service. This is usually a 5 star and hope this was a one time disappointment.

They were not offering a buffet the day I was there☹. So this isn't a rating, it just shows I was disappointed that they don't post the buffet hours and that I wasted my time.

Tried to eat here on Sunday. There was a sign outside that stated there was a buffer from certain times. It did not mention that you were not able to order other food. The food at the buffet at 1pm looked like it has been there all day. After waiting for 30 minutes for menus we were told we were not able to order food. We had to take our large party to another restaurant. Update your sign, and have more appealing food!

Came in here on Christmas day and these guys were slammed! They persisted and got all the food out and kept their calm the whole time. Nothing but respect for these people!!

Sunday, late afternoon, lots of available tables yet there is a wait.Once seated, service is fair but the food is average. I might as well go to Panda express.

Order the appetizer plate outstanding. Service could have been better, but food, quantity and presentation great. Love the sizzling rice soup, very clean place long time in community.

Food is fresh, incredibly delicious and to top it off they have excellent customer service. I was truly impressed and definitely plan on going back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Superb! My whole family loves this place. The food is yummy and is CONSISTENT. The Brunch service during Sundays are a blast, but you have to make sure to get there before it gets too busy or you and fellow customers will be knudging each other over for the last piece of fried squid or portion of sweet and sour pork.

Lots of good food. Prices are reasonable. We ordered the family dinners thinking the servings would be like Panda Express. The food was quite tasty. Will go back again.

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had anywhere. Wonton soup was weird and gross. General Tso’s had decent flavor but the chicken texture was very strange. Wasn’t sure if I was even eating chicken.

Good food, service and environment. It should be the best Chinese restaurant along the CA-395. I give 4 star better than Yelp's 3 based on my Chinese taste.

We stopped on here on the way to Mammoth. We are vegan so we were looking for a place that can accommodate us. They were able to do a good job, plenty of vegetarian dishes. I had the bean curd and mushroom and it left something to be desired. The best dish we ordered was the crispy tofu with spicy sauce and cabbage appetizer. The service was quick although it took a while for the food to get here. The place is clean and it was busy

Best food in area.

Service at the bar was terrible!!! The bartender could care less if we were there. Ended up staying and ordered take out because we were exhausted from driving all day. After a friendly younger server helped us, we were reassured everything was in the to go bag. Drove back to our room and the rice we paid for was not included. Food was good, but that's about it.

Ordered "to go" from the menu at the cashier's counter. Pleasant atmosphere made me wish I had brought the family to 'eat in' instead of taking dinner back to the house. Portions were very large and delicious! Staff was friendly and professional. Wait time minimal. For sure, next time we'll all come to the restaurant and eat inside!

I've always eaten here at Imperial Gourmet and the food is always the best by far from any Chinese restaurant I've tried. Just love this place. Sure missed it when I moved away but so happy I moved back to enjoy their food again. YUMMY

Very good beef and broccoli. They were very accommodating making my wife a gluten free dish. The service felt very welcoming.

Good food, make sure you order take out you will get more for your money. Ordering in you seem to get smaller portions. Quick also you can walk in order take out and wait maybe 10 minutes tops for your food.

They are or were only doing Togo. I hope they stay in business. We had a great meal and they were super nice friendly and fast. This was probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. And that is saying a lot.

I'm not sure what to say. I've ordered Orange chicken at a dozen cities at dozens of restaurants and never found it to be a spicy dish. Don't get me wrong, I love spice. Took 3 kids skiing all day. Decided not to cook and pick up take out. The menu was not formatted for the Internet. Super lame. I decided to play it safe and ordered 2 orders of orange chicken .at least I know it's something my kids will eat. It was smothered in garlic chili. Paid $65 for dinner to feed my kids white rice and marshmallows. Just lame.

Needs work on recipes sometimes tastes funny

The fried rice at Panda Express is way better than this place! The fried rice we ordered looked good on the menu but was just a heap of greasy rice with no eggs and hardly some chicken in it! BTW,one piece of carrot and one pea made it's way into the heap of rice by mistake too -another indication of the sloppy preparation

Your food use to be so good what happen? You need to change your grease more often & frying foods in left over fish grease is very nasty. I could believe It those chip they would give you before your meal they wanted to charge me $2:00 dollars I was like you can’t put a bag in there , I just spent $70. The lady says well this time I will but next time we need to charge you. I said well thank but there won’t be a next time have a nice evening. I just couldn’t believe it.

I often take my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are yummy and the team is generous and cooperative. always when we go to this place we have a cheerful evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Super authentic down right good food

I have been coming here for probably longer than any restaurant. I give it a solid four stars for the simple fact that there is better Chinese food out there in the world. I have had a lot of it and reserve five stars for those places. It is extremely well done Americanized Chinese food with all the classics and more. There is a full bar, it is family owned and have been serving food for over 30 years.

Food is much worse than other CA region. Price is much higher. But no choice if you like a Chinese food in Bishop. If there is other chinese restaurants in Bishop, I must choose it.
